This guide will help you connect Lead2Team with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track events and conversions effectively.
Step 1: Get Your GTM ID
- Log in to your Google Tag Manager admin panel.
- Copy your GTM ID, which looks like this: GTM-XXXXXXX.

Step 2: Add Your GTM ID in Lead2Team
- Log in to your Lead2Team Admin Panel.
- Go to Company > Company Profile.
- Paste your GTM ID into the Google Tag Manager ID field.
- Click Save.

Step 3: Import the Lead2Team GTM Container
- Download this file (GTM container file provided by Lead2Team)
- In your GTM account, go to Admin > Import Container.
- Select the downloaded file.
- Choose Merge and Overwrite conflicting tags.
- Click Confirm.

Step 4: Update Your GA4 Measurement ID
- In your GTM workspace, open the following tags:
- Lead2Team Click – GA4 Event
- Lead2Team Lead – GA4 Event
- Replace the placeholder G-XXXXXXXXX with your actual GA4 Measurement ID (format: G-123456789).

- Submit and publish the new GTM version.

Step 5: Verify Event Tracking in GA4
After publishing, Lead2Team will automatically trigger events when:
- A user clicks a connector
- A user submits a contact form
To verify:
- Open your Google Analytics 4 account.
- Go to Reports > Realtime.
- Interact with your Lead2Team widget (click or send a message).
- Within 30 seconds, you should see the following events:
- l2t_click
- l2t_lead
- Each event includes four parameters:
- l2t_account
- l2t_agent
- l2t_channel
- l2t_label

Step 6: Add Custom Dimensions in GA4
By default, GA4 won’t show these parameters in reports.
To enable them:
- In GA4, go to Admin > Custom Definitions.
- Click Create custom definition for each parameter below:
| Dimension Name | Event Parameter |
|---|---|
| l2t_account | l2t_account |
| l2t_agent | l2t_agent |
| l2t_channel | l2t_channel |
| l2t_label | l2t_label |
Click Save after each one.

✅ Done!
Wait 24–48 hours, and GA4 will start showing your Lead2Team events in the reports.
You can also mark l2t_click and l2t_lead as Conversions in GA4 or GTM for deeper insights into your funnel.
